Advancement Via Individual Determination, AVID, is a sixth through twelfth grade program that prepares students in the academic middle for admissions to a four year college or university. Students take an AVID elective course throughout middle school and high school that provides them with the skills needed to be successful in advancing academically with the ultimate goal of attending college. 

Students with Academic Potential: 

• Average to high average test scores

• College potential with support

• Individual desire and determination

Meets one or more of the following criteria:

• First to attend college

• Historically underserved in four-year colleges

• Low income

• Special circumstance
